| 中文描述 | 肉毒桿菌素中毒是由肉毒桿菌的強力毒素引起的。很難確認，但和臨床症狀與傷口或腸道病灶的微生物培養有關，或是證明食物中含有毒素都是可能的診斷。吃下毒素後三到七天就會出現臨床症狀。小馬或成年馬匹都可能發生。可能是「shaker foals」的原因。各部位都很虛弱，包括頭部，是一項重要的診斷線索。 |

| 英文描述 | Botulism is caused by the potent toxin of CLOSTRIDIUM BOTULINUM. Difficult to confirm but association of clinical signs with culture of the organism from wounds or intestinal lesions, or proof of toxin in feeds would be considered diagnostic. The incubation period for clinical signs after ingestion of preformed toxin is three to seven days. Seen in foals and adults. May be cause of 'shaker foals'. Diffuse weakness including the head is an important diagnostic clue. |
